Alphonse "Big Al" Hendricks Jr. passed away peacefully on May 14, 2017 at Gonzales Healthcare Center at the age of 75. He was formerly employed at Uniroyal Chemical Plant in Geismar, LA. and a deputy for the Livingston Parish Police Department. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 19 years, Doris Andrews Hendricks; three children; daughter Angela (Phillip) Bessix, son Marvin (Anita) Hendricks of Head of Island, La., daughter Erica (Troy) Darville of Gonzales, La.; one stepson Steven (Keisha) Irvin of Gonzales. La.; three sisters; Mable Reed, Etta (Richard) Jackson of New Orleans, La, and Elaine (Leroy) Stevens of Gonzales, La; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Alphonse Hendricks Sr., and Mae Hendricks Moses; a son, Alphonse Hendricks III; sister, Maggie Stephens; two brothers; Paul and Gary Hendricks; and a stepfather Armsey Moses, Sr. Visitation at Jeremiah Baptist Church, 3380 Highway 44, Convent, LA. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until religious service at 11:00 a.m. Williams- Cushenberry Funeral Home, LLC of St. Gabriel, Louisiana is in charge of the arrangements.
