Dennis "Flipper" Collins was born on July 31, 1952 and departed this life on August 2,2016 at the age of 64. He is the son of Mary Lee Collins of Gonzales, Louisiana, where he was raised. Dennis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Bishop Raymond F. Marcell at Sacred Heart of Mary Spiritual Church of Christ. He was educated in the Ascension Parish School System and played football with the former John F. Kennedy High School Broncos. Dennis was a former employee of Dutchtown Primary School as a maintenance worker, as well as a roofer and brick layer. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Mary Lee Williams, a devoted and special friend, Dianne Jackson, one daughter, Carilise Chambers, Columbus, Mississippi, two sons, Gregory Collins, Katy, Texas and DeShawn Lomas, Gonzales, La., Joyce Scott, Hillaryville, La., and one stepsister, Nellie Ann Wilson, Darrow La., three brothers, Floyd (Stephanie) Williams, Gonzales, La., Lloyd Williams, Longview, Texas and Clarence (Tina) Collins, Gonzales, La., one aunt, Elouise Collins (Jessie), three uncles, Hebert Allison, Henry Collins and Floyd (Carolyn) Collins, two devoted cousins, Jessie Kendell Collins and Ricky Armstrong along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, uncles, aunts, and grandparents.
