Octavia Scott Batiste was born on March 14, 1941, to the parentage of Oscar Sr. and Mariah Milton of Convent, LA. She departed this life on February 5, 2015. She was 73 years old. She was an employee of Holiday Inn for 32 years. Octavia leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Pamela (Lawrence) Batiste-Kennedy of Geismar, LA and Hania Batiste of Gonzales, LA; two sons, Lee Paul Batiste and Kurt Batiste both of Geismar, LA. Six grandchildren – LaKeisha (Calvin) Batiste, LaShonda (Terrell) Browden, Ronnie Popularas Jr., Rhondalon Popularas, and Jasmine Carter, all of Gonzales, LA. and De'Brian Carter of Geismar LA.; five great-grandchildren: Jaris Jackson, Jordan Batisite, Jayden Lemon, Erin Williams and Londyn Carter all of Gonzales, LA.; seven sisters, three brothers; three sisters-in-law along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband – Albert Batiste; parents, Oscar Sr. & Mariah Milton; brothers, Oscar Milton Jr., Harry James Scott; sister, Rosetta Scott; great-granddaughter Jaylynn Lemon; eight brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law and other aunts, uncles and relatives.
